One of the changes that has been decreed during the close season is the establishment of a zonal Minor County 50-over competition, so there will be more matches to watch.  ECB have agreed to support this competition, which is obviously a considerable and much-appreciated help.  Having lost our participation in the C&G Knockout Competition, this Minor Counties knockout will enable a better balance to be maintained between 3-day cricket and the limited-over game.

After some detailed discussion, the Dorset Management Committee has agreed that a cricket coach is a good thing, and Richard Scott has been appointed.  Richard has had a good cricketing career, first with Dorset and then with Hampshire and Gloucestershire, and he has good coaching qualifications.
